Engr Taofik Abdulkareem is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, where he studied Computer Engineering. He holds an MBA (Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Creation) from Kwara State University, Malete, and a Master of Public Administration (Public Policy) from Miva Open University. His MPA dissertation focused on the early efficacy of the Nigeria Startup Act for artificial intelligence startups.

Abdulkareem had a brief stint with International Learning Systems, an ICT and business training school, in Lagos. He joined Kwara State Polytechnic as a lecturer in 2005 and left in 2010 to become a full partner at Plat Technologies Limited, an ICT firm whose products and services are used by several educational institutions at all levels.

Currently, he is the CEO of the firm, managing the company and leading a team of experts in software development projects.

His consulting work has impacted numerous companies, institutions, and organisations, including Duro Ogboye Consults, Ikoyi, Lagos; Future Technologies Systems (JKK), Lagos; Ilor Technologies, Abuja; TechWaves Limited, Ilorin; University of Ilorin, Ilorin; Forestry Association of Nigeria; Climax Tours Limited, Lagos; and Humaya Ventures, Ilorin.

Abdulkareem is a member of several professional societies and associations. He is the current Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society, Kwara State Chapter. He is also a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria, Nigeria Internet Society, Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, and Council for Renewable Energy in Nigeria.

He serves on the governing board of the Ilorin Innovation Hub and Ethical College of Health Sciences and Technology amongst others

Taofik Abdulkareem is passionate about youth development, particularly in the educational sector. He and his firm have partnered with others to improve reading culture amongst youths and encourage entrepreneurial mindset and skills development. He serves on the steering committee of Oasis Muslim Care Foundation, a health NGO.

In his free time, Abdulkareem enjoys long fitness walks and reading.

He is married and blessed with children.
